Frequently asked questions
DueDate for iPhone · Jaceal LLC
What is DueDate?
DueDate is a private subscription and bill tracker for iPhone. You add each subscription or bill once, and DueDate shows everything coming up in the next 30 days with your monthly total, and reminds you before each charge and before free trials end. It needs iOS 17 or later.
Does it cancel my subscriptions?
No. DueDate is a tracker, not a cancellation service. It never contacts a company on your behalf. Each item has an optional “How to cancel” field for your own notes or a link, and “Mark as cancelled” only updates DueDate and stops its reminders. To actually cancel, you cancel with the provider (or in your Apple ID subscriptions settings, for App Store subscriptions).
Does it link to my bank?
No. There is no bank link, no card connection and no email scanning. You type in each item yourself: name, amount, how often and the next date. That is also why there is nothing to sync, nothing to break and no login to manage.
Do I need an account, and what data do you collect?
You do not need an account, and there isn’t one. DueDate does not collect your data: the App Store privacy label is Data Not Collected. There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your list lives on your iPhone and, if iCloud sync is on, in your own private iCloud storage.
What does it cost? Is it a subscription?
DueDate is free for up to 5 items, with no time limit. That free tier includes the Upcoming list, monthly totals, reminders and iCloud sync. DueDate Pro is a one-time $4.99 purchase, not a subscription, and nothing renews. Pro unlocks unlimited items, categories and insights, CSV export and a Face ID lock. There is no trial and no weekly or monthly plan.
How do reminders work?
Each item has a “Remind me” setting, so you pick how many days ahead you want to hear about it. If an item has a trial end date, DueDate also reminds you before the trial ends. Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your iPhone, so they don’t need an internet connection. DueDate asks for notification permission when you save your first item. If you turn notifications off in iOS Settings, DueDate can’t remind you.
How does iCloud sync work, and does it cost extra?
iCloud sync is included free for everyone. Your items sync through your own private iCloud database to your other devices signed in to the same Apple ID. Without a live push connection, changes made on another device show up when you open DueDate. You can switch sync off in Settings; the change applies the next time DueDate opens. Reminders are scheduled separately on each device.
How does the Face ID lock work?
Face ID lock is a Pro feature. When you turn it on in Settings, DueDate asks you to confirm it’s you before showing your bills and subscriptions. It uses the biometrics built into your iPhone, with your device passcode as the fallback, and you need a passcode set on the iPhone to use it. DueDate never receives your face data; iOS only tells it whether you passed.
Can I export my data?
Yes. CSV export is part of Pro. In Settings, choose Export CSV and iOS opens its standard share sheet, so you pick where the file goes: Files, AirDrop, Mail or another app. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you choose to send it.
How do refunds and restoring Pro work?
Purchases are handled by Apple, so refund requests go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Developers cannot issue App Store refunds directly. If you reinstall or get a new iPhone, tap Restore Purchases in DueDate’s Settings to bring Pro back with the same Apple ID. For anything else, see the Support page.
